Inovasi Teknologi Pertanian Tepat Guna melalui Tabela dan Light Trap Insect untuk Meningkatkan Produktivitas Petani dalam Program KKN

Abstract

The application of appropriate agricultural technology is one of the effective ways to improve rice farming performance while addressing challenges such as labor shortages, increasing production costs, and pest infestations that negatively affect crop yields. This study aims to examine the implementation of Direct Seeding Technology (Tabela) and Light Trap Insect technology through the Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) as a means of transferring knowledge and technical skills to farmers. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach involving university students, farmers, farmer groups, and village government officials. Research activities included field observations, interviews, socialization, technology demonstrations, implementation assistance, and evaluation of the outcomes. The results showed that the Tabela device improved planting efficiency, achieving an effective field capacity of 2 hours per hectare, a seed distribution uniformity rate of 90%, and a plant growth percentage of 95%. Meanwhile, the solar-powered Light Trap Insect system effectively captured various major rice pests and contributed to reducing pesticide use by approximately 80%. The application of these technologies also reduced labor requirements from 15 workers to only 2 workers during the planting process. In addition to saving time and operational costs, the technologies provided environmental benefits by minimizing the use of chemical pesticides. Therefore, Tabela and Light Trap Insect technologies have significant potential as innovative agricultural solutions to enhance productivity, improve farming efficiency, and support sustainable rice cultivation.
