The role of the all-Russian project "Navigators of Childhood" in the formation of patriotism as a value among modern school students (based on materials from a sociological study in the Altai Krai)
Abstract
The article discusses the role of the nationwide project "Navigators of Childhood" in the formation of patriotism as a value among modern schoolchildren, with special attention given to educational advisors as key subjects in shaping the patriotic attitudes of students in schools. The study of this issue is quite relevant, as current transformations in the value system increase the real need for patriotic education among the youth, which should be comprehensive and targeted. The "Navigators of Childhood" project aims to integrate the educational potential of schools and other social institutions and organizations that foster patriotism among representatives of the younger generation into a unified system. In the context of the implementation of the nationwide project "Navigators of Childhood," it is important to state that the educational space of modern schools has indeed changed, and therefore it is crucial to understand how this entire system allows for the formation of patriotism as a value among contemporary schoolchildren. The methodological basis of the work consists of a combination of structural functionalism, a systemic approach, and an axiological approach. The methodology of the current sociological study is based on a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, with the qualitative method represented by expert surveys in the form of in-depth interviews with educational advisors and project leaders at the regional level, while the quantitative method is represented by a questionnaire survey of schoolchildren. The sample consisted of 367 respondents, 350 of whom participated in the questionnaire survey (i.e., schoolchildren studying in schools of the Altai Territory), and 17 participated in the expert survey in the form of in-depth interviews. The obtained data allowed for a comprehensive characterization of the role of the nationwide project "Navigators of Childhood" in forming patriotism among modern schoolchildren as a value based on a three-component model. Moreover, key prospects for the development of this process were identified, and the degree of expression of each component of patriotism in the lives of contemporary schoolchildren was analyzed. Further research in this area is necessary, significant, and important, as the "Navigators of Childhood" project continues to evolve, and the social reality itself is changing; therefore, in the medium term, it is very important to monitor the dynamics of such a role and characterize it in more detail.
