RESULTS OF NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF A REGENERATIVE SELF-ROTATING AIR HEATER
Abstract
A methodology for calculating aerodynamic torques and friction torque in the support units of a regenerative rotary air preheater is presented. Results of numerical modeling are shown, reflecting the dependence of the total torque on the guide vane angle and the boiler heat load. Based on the calculations, operating conditions under which rotor self-rotation is possible without the operation of an electric motor were determined. For practical implementation, the use of a turning gear is proposed. The performed technical and economic calculations substantiate the efficiency of the proposed modernization. The obtained results confirm the fundamental possibility of stable equipment operation in the self-rotation mode, provided that the proposed operating parameters are observed.
