Strategi Guru Akidah Akhlak dalam Membentuk Kepribadian Muslim pada Peserta Didik Kelas VIII di MTs Nurus Salam Deli Tua
Abstract
This study aims to describe the strategies used by Akidah Akhlak teachers to shape the Muslim personality of Grade VIII students at MTsS Nurus Salam Deli Tua, explain how the strategies are implemented in classroom learning and school activities, and outline their reported impact on students’ behavior. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach and field research design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The main sources included the school principal and Akidah Akhlak teachers, supported by documents and photographs. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that teachers use role modelling, habituation, advice and corrective reminders, integration of character values into lessons, and religious and extracurricular activities. These activities include congregational prayers, Qur’an recitation, TPQ activities, morning assemblies, short religious talks, and routines promoting discipline and cleanliness. The implementation was reported to be associated with improvements in students’ politeness, honesty, discipline, and compliance with school rules. Nevertheless, challenges remain, including less-than-optimal collaboration among educators. The study highlights the importance of consistent teacher role modelling, habituation, supervision, and cooperation among schools, families, and the wider community.
