The impact of agronomic practices on the productivity and quality of soybean seeds in the monsoon climate of the Primorsky krai
Abstract
The development of varietal agricultural practices aimed at realizing the inherent potential of modern soybean varieties adapted to the specific conditions of the region where they are cultivated ensures high total seed yields. The authors studied the influence of certain cultivation elements (stem density, sowing methods, fertilizers with microelements) on the yield and grain quality of the new zoned mid‑season soybean variety Briz under the monsoon climate conditions of the Primorsky krai during the period 2021–2023. As a result of the analysis of foliar complex and single-component top dressing with micro-, meso- and macronutrients (zinc, boron, copper, magnesium, potassium), it was found that in the conditions of Primorsky krai, a high yield of the Briz soybean variety (3.7 t/ha) was obtained when Boro-N was introduced into the flowering phase. The high protein content in the seeds (40.3–40.8%) was noted in the variant when plants were treated with Fertix-B in the phase of the 2nd–3rd trifoliate leaf. The introduction of magnesium chelate in all variants by application phases led to an increase in the oil content in soybean seeds (23.0–23.1%). The maximum yield (2.8–3.0 t/ha) of soybeans of the Briz variety was established when sowing in ordinary (by 15 cm) and wide-row (by 30 cm) methods with a seeding rate of 350–450 thousand germinating seeds per 1 ha.
