Integration of Smart Dust technologies into BIM systems information support

2026 · VII All-Russian (National) Scientific Conference "Modernization, Innovations, Progress" · 0 citations

Abstract

The article addresses improving the efficiency of BIM information support through the integration of Building Information Modeling with the Internet of Things and distributed Smart Dust sensor systems. An approach to creating a unified information environment is proposed, providing end-to-end links between sensors, physical assets, BIM model elements, and corporate information systems. The possibilities of using sensor data for structural condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, energy efficiency management, indoor climate control, and building safety are considered. An information interaction architecture integrating Smart Dust, an IoT platform, an integration layer, a BIM model, and corporate systems is proposed. Functional separation between semantic BIM data and streaming telemetry storage is substantiated. The proposed approach improves the relevance, manageability, and practical value of BIM information support and provides a technological basis for the development of building digital twins.
