Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Pengetahuan pada Remaja Putri tentang Pemeriksaan Payudara Sendiri (Sadari) di Kelas XI SMAN 1 Waringinkurung
Abstract
Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death among women, making early detection through Breast Self-Examination (BSE) essential. Limited knowledge among adolescent girls regarding Breast Self-Examination (BSE) may hinder early breast cancer detection practices. This study aimed to determine the factors influencing adolescent girls' knowledge of Breast Self-Examination (BSE) among eleventh-grade female students at SMAN 1 Waringinkurung in 2026. The population of this study consisted of all 217 eleventh-grade female students at SMAN 1 Waringinkurung. This study employed a quantitative analytic method with a cross-sectional design. A total of 68 respondents were selected using proportional random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed through univariate and bivariate analyses using the Chi-Square test. The univariate analysis showed that the majority of respondents had a moderate level of knowledge (54.4%), negative attitudes (51.5%), had never performed Breast Self-Examination (54.4%), and did not receive family support (51.5%). The bivariate analysis revealed no significant association between attitude and knowledge (p = 0.148), practice and knowledge (p = 0.658), or family support and knowledge (p = 0.345), as allsa2w p-values were greater than 0.05. It was concluded that attitude, practice, and family support were not significantly associated with adolescent girls' knowledge of Breast Self-Examination (BSE) at SMAN 1 Waringinkurung. It is recommended that the school provide education on Breast Self-Examination (BSE) for adolescent girls based on the findings of this study.
