Abstract

Research on Islamic financial literacy and interest in using Islamic banking products has been extensive, but the integration of financial behavior in the context of rural communities still requires stronger empirical evidence. This study aimed to analyze the effects of Islamic financial literacy and financial behavior on community members’ interest in using Islamic banking products in Bangun Harjo (Kuamang Kuning) Hamlet, Bungo Regency, Jambi Province. The study employed a quantitative approach with an associative survey design involving 97 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS 30. The analysis showed that, within the model tested, Islamic financial literacy (t = 4.651; p < 0.05) and financial behavior (t = 6.518; p < 0.05) had positive and significant effects on community members’ interest. The joint test indicated that the regression model was significant (F = 46.416; p < 0.05), with the two variables explaining 49.7% of the variance in interest in using Islamic banking products (R² = 0.497). These findings underscore the association of financial knowledge and behavior with interest in using Islamic banking services among rural communities. This study extends the empirical evidence in this context and provides a basis for developing community-based Islamic financial education that combines increased knowledge with strengthened financial management skills to support interest in using Islamic banking services.
