ECONOMIC AND DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF CONSTRUCTION ENTERPRISES IN THE CONTEXT OF DEVELOPING ADAPTIVE MECHANISMS FOR STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

Transformational changes in construction enterprises are increasingly linked to the integration of digital technologies into the economic management system and to the need for new mechanisms of adaptation. The purpose of the article is to determine the conditions under which the intensity of digital restructuring of a construction enterprise is converted into economic performance growth, and to substantiate the conceptual and mathematical foundations for choosing an adaptive trajectory of strategic development. Digital restructuring covers not only technological modernization but also a change in the ways of using economic potential, organizing information interaction and making managerial decisions. Economic and digital transformation is considered as a coordinated reconfiguration of an enterprise's internal structure, within which digital and technological integration, information synchronization, economic manageability, process flexibility and managerial adaptability form an interconnected system of strategic transformations. The study applies systemic, structural-parametric and risk-oriented approaches, structural decomposition, normalization, weighted aggregation, non-linear modelling and trajectory analysis. A system of indicators is proposed: a composite index of digital restructuring, coefficients of structural synchronization and inter-circuit balance, indicators of transformational effectiveness, capacity and risk-adjusted stability, and an integrated trajectory function. Calculations show that a high weighted average level of components is accompanied by lower structural synchronization and inter-circuit balance, caused by the lag of the process-adaptation circuit behind the digital-integration one. Four modes of strategic behaviour are identified: stabilization, adaptive build-up, accelerated transformation and advanced development; the transition between them is formalized through the ratio of transformational capacity, impulse intensity, structural synchronization and risk load. The effectiveness of transformation depends on the proportional development of components rather than on maximizing individual ones.
