Testing Technologies and Objectivity of Assessment
Abstract
The relevance of this study is determined by the need to ensure objective assessment in the context of the modernization of the education system and the widespread implementation of digital educational technologies. Testing makes it possible to standardize the knowledge assessment procedure, minimize the influence of subjective factors, and increase the reliability of assessment results. Research objectives include analyzing the potential of testing technologies for ensuring objective assessment of students’ knowledge, skills, and competencies. The article examines the basic principles of developing high-quality test items, as well as the requirements for their validity, reliability, and discriminative ability. It also considers factors that may reduce the objectivity of assessment, including poorly designed test items, technical errors, random guessing, and psychological characteristics of learners. The use of modern testing technologies contributes to increasing the transparency and fairness of assessment, providing prompt feedback, and creating conditions for monitoring the quality of education. At the same time, testing should not be considered the only method of assessing learning outcomes, as certain educational results require the use of comprehensive assessment methods. The effective use of testing technologies in combination with other forms of assessment makes it possible to improve the objectivity of the educational process and ensure a more accurate determination of students’ level of preparation.
