Design and Implementation of a Real-Time Temperature Monitoring System Using Arduino Microcontroller

Oct 2026 · International Journal of Engineering and Modern Technology · 0 citations

Abstract

The design and implementation of a real-time temperature monitoring system using Arduino, a popular open-source microcontroller platform is presented. The system integrates a temperature sensor, such as the DHT22, to measure temperature readings, which are then processed and displayed on an LCD screen in real-time. The Arduino board serves as the core of the system, providing a flexible and programmable platform for data acquisition, processing, and display. The system can be configured to send alerts or notifications when temperature readings exceed predefined thresholds, enabling timely responses to temperature fluctuations. The proposed system offers a cost-effective and efficient solution for real-time temperature monitoring applications, including industrial process control, divergent agricultural applications including food storage, and environmental monitoring. Key findings from the implementation and testing include Accurate Temperature Measurement, Clear Local Display, Real-Time Responsiveness, Effective Basic Alerting, Robustness and Stability, Cost-Effectiveness and Simplicity. The system's performance is evaluated through experimental testing, demonstrating its accuracy, reliability, and potential for practical implementation
