Digital Technologies for Sustainable and Resilient Supply Chains: A Systematic Review of Quantitative Models from Firm to National Economy

Oct 2026 · Open Science Framework
Sustainable Supply Chain Management Supply Chain Resilience and Risk Management

Abstract

Protocol of a systematic review of quantitative models (optimisation, simulation, agent-based, system dynamics, digital-twin, game-theoretic, input-output/CGE) in which a digital technology (IoT, blockchain, digital twins, AI, big-data analytics, platforms) is part of the modelled supply chain and at least one environmental or social sustainability metric is included. The review maps which technologies and mechanisms are modelled, how sustainability-resilience trade-offs under disruption are represented, whether models cover cross-border rather than domestic chains, and whether results are scaled to the sectoral or national-economy level. The impact of agile practices on communication in software development

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.

Trajectory Balance: Improved Credit Assignment in GFlowNets

It is proved that any global minimizer of the trajectory balance objective can define a policy that samples exactly from the target distribution, and empirically demonstrate the benefits of the trajectories balance objective for GFlowNet convergence, diversity of generated samples, and robustness to long action sequenc...
