Abstract

This record contains the analysis code, results table, and README for a secondary analysis of openESM dataset 0001 (Fried, Papanikolaou & Epskamp, 2022; Clinical Psychological Science, doi:10.1177/21677026211017839). The data come from an ecological momentary assessment study of 80 undergraduate psychology students at Leiden University in March 2020, with four prompts per day for 14 days. The analysis uses 79 participants with EMA data and 3,938 answered prompts. It examines whether worry predicts negative tension within persons, and whether same-day lagged associations between worry and tension remain after controlling for prior scores of the outcome. Measures refer to the past three hours and are rated on a 1 to 5 scale. Concurrent worry predicted tension within persons (γ = 0.350, 95% CI [0.325, 0.374], autoregression controlled). Lagged cross-effects were positive without autoregressive control and negative with it, in both directions, so they are not interpreted as carryover. Random-slope models converged. The record includes the R script (fried_covid_lag_analysis.R), the results table (lag_results.csv), and a README with the cleaning rules, sample flow, and software versions. The raw data are available from openESM under CC BY 4.0.

The impact of agile practices on communication in software development

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.

Trajectory Balance: Improved Credit Assignment in GFlowNets

It is proved that any global minimizer of the trajectory balance objective can define a policy that samples exactly from the target distribution, and empirically demonstrate the benefits of the trajectories balance objective for GFlowNet convergence, diversity of generated samples, and robustness to long action sequenc...
