Analysis and integrated assessment of the potential of Russian IT companies
Abstract
The study analyzes the main trends in the development of the global and Russian information technology sector and examines existing approaches to assessing the financial, economic, strategic, and intellectual potential of organizations. The IT sector in the Russian Federation is one of the dynamically developing segments of the economy. In 2025, its volume reached 1.9 trillion rubles, with a growth rate of 11.5%. Given technological changes, the limited availability of information about organizations’ activities, and the high role of human capital, the need for tools for the rapid and comparable assessment of the potential of IT companies is growing. Applying traditional analysis methods to IT companies requires taking into account “intellectual capital,” which includes human capital, organizational (structural) capital, and consumer (relational) capital. This term was introduced by the American economist John Kenneth Galbraith in 1969, but this theory only gained active development in the 1990s. The authors of the enterprise attempted to create a prototype of an integrated model for assessing the potential of IT organizations, based on indicators available from open sources, and including three blocks: investment attractiveness, business sustainability, and human capital. Rules of normalization and aggregation have been developed for the selected indicators in order to calculate a single index. The methodology was tested using the example of Kaspersky Lab JSC and JETLIN LLC, representing companies in large and small market segments. According to the calculation results, the integral potential assessment was 60 points for Kaspersky Lab JSC and 45 points for JETLIN LLC out of a possible 100. The proposed approach can be used for operational support of a wide range of IT companies based on open data, and the further direction of research is to improve it, adjust parameters, scale to a larger number of organizations, and build a visual add-on in the form of an agent-based simulation model that allows testing industry development scenarios.
