Nazwiska patronimiczne z formantami -ов-/-ев-, -ин- nawiązujące do leksyki apelatywnej poświadczone w metrykach parafii prawosławnej w Łapach (1898–1915)
Abstract
The subject of this paper are patronymic surnames with the suffixes -ov-/-ev- and -in-, derived from personal names of appellative origin recorded in the parish registers of the St. Nicholas Orthodox parish in Łapy in the years 1898–1915. The paper uses a philological descriptive method, focusing on the study of the etymology of word -formation bases, as well as elements of an interdisciplinary approach, which assumes the analysis of the relationships between language units and sociological, historical and political factors. The surnames (previously patronyms) discussed here were created on the basis of personal names derived from appellatives with different semantics (cf. e.g. Bezborodov, Tiuntin, Zaycev, Oreshnikova, Balachonov, Vershynin, Vostrikov, Maslennikov). In the linguistic aspect, East Slavic lexemes dominate, including those formed on the basis of dialects. Surnames with the suffixes -ov-/-ev- and -in- represent a word -formation type that is not very popular im Podlasie, but their relatively high percentage in the Orthodox parish in Łapy results from historical and socio -economic factors, or more precisely – it is related to the immigration of people from the near and far lands of the Russian Empire.
