Integrated Stereo SAR Sensing and Cooperative Communication in LEO Satellite Constellations
Abstract
In this paper, we propose a framework for integrated stereo synthetic aperture radar (SAR) sensing and cooperative communication in low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellations. To facilitate multi-satellite cooperation under the severe Doppler dynamics of LEO channels, a unified orthogonal delay-Doppler division multiplexing (ODDM) waveform is employed to support enhanced downlink transmission, while allowing a central satellite to leverage the ODDM waveform structure to extract multi-view range profiles with distinct Doppler centroids from superimposed echoes. Based on range-Doppler (RD) models established over multiple baselines, geometric inversion is then performed to achieve three-dimensional (3D) geolocation. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed framework in supporting high-throughput communication and meter-level 3D remote sensing in LEO satellite constellations.
