Abstract
Principal supervision constitutes a human resource management mechanism that extends beyond monitoring task implementation by directing the continuous guidance, evaluation, and professional development of teachers and educational staff. This study aims to analyze the planning, implementation, evaluation, follow-up, and supporting and inhibiting factors of supervision at SMA IT Ash Shidiqi Jambi. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, eight teachers, three educational staff members, and the vice principal for curriculum affairs. The findings indicate that supervision is needs-based and implemented through pre-observation, observation, post-observation, reflection, and follow-up coaching, contributing to improvements in pedagogical competency by 34.0%, professional competency by 28.0%, personality competency by 19.3%, and social competency by 18.9%, alongside improved performance among educational staff. Supporting factors include commitment, openness, reflective practices, and foundation support, while inhibiting factors comprise administrative workload, scheduling delays, competency disparities, and limited resources. The novelty of this study lies in integrating teacher and educational staff supervision within an adaptive, needs-based, and sustainable professional development framework.
