Preparation and Evaluation of Herbal Nanoemulgel for Treatment of Sinusitis
Abstract
Nanoemulgel have become a promising method for delivering hydrophobic drugs through the skin. The purpose of this study was to prepare an Nanoemulgel containing Curcumin and Eucalyptol. When Nanoemulsions are made separately, they often face stability issues during both production and storage, which can affect how the drug is released. To improve the drug's stability, it was incorporated into a gel. Nanoemulgel are formulations that are thermodynamically stable, have low interfacial tension, and are made by combining a surfactant with a co-surfactant. They possess several beneficial properties like enhanced permeability and good thermodynamic stability. Nanoemulgel offer dual control and a sustained release of the drug. They also improve the bioavailability of the drug and make it easier for patients to adhere to the treatment. The nanoemulgel developed in this study acted as an Anti-inflammatory and met all the required testing standards. It was prepared in multiple batches, and batch CU+EUNE5 was found to be the most effective one.
