Abstract

Although circumstances may change over time, certain values of the human race remain constant. In particular, the state of mind of the man and woman engaged in domestic life, as well as that of their close associates, remains unchanged even to this day. Thus, the nature of the relationship and the romantic sentiments between a man and a woman, as they existed during the periods when Sangam literature was composed and compiled, have endured across many centuries. Based on this perspective, some individuals continue to undertake the task of crafting essays, drawing upon the poems of the Kurunthogai that are tailored to the contemporary context. In this sense, one can observe how the themes found in the poems of the Kurunthogai reappear in modern literature in new forms.
