Sep 2026 · Asian Journal of Insect Science · 0 citations

Abstract

The male of Apiocephalus yangmingae Xie, 2025 is briefly described for the first time based on a specimen collected from Baokang County, Hubei Province, China. This discovery extends the known distribution of the species to Hubei, representing the first record of the genus Apiocephalus Gahan, 1898 from this province. The visited flower, Cornus kousa subsp. chinensis (Cornaceae), is also recorded for this species. A brief comparison of morphological characters between the male and female is also provided.
