Additive Manufacturing and Amniotic Membrane in Chronic-Wound Dressings: A Systematic Review
Abstract
This dataset accompanies the systematic review "Biofabrication, Additive Manufacturing, and Human Amniotic Membrane in Chronic Wound Dressings: A Systematic Review." The dataset contains study-level extraction records and methodological assessments supporting the narrative synthesis of 79 included studies. The supporting tables cover study characteristics (S3), biofabrication strategies and material properties (S4), amniotic and placental-derived interventions (S5), wound-healing and tissue-regeneration outcomes (S6), antimicrobial outcomes (S7), and methodological quality and risk-of-bias assessments (S8A–S8C). The review includes 12 randomized clinical trials, 15 clinical observational studies, 46 preclinical in vivo studies, and six exclusively in vitro/proof-of-concept studies. Data were synthesized narratively because of heterogeneity in interventions, comparators, study designs, outcomes, and follow-up periods.
