Abstract

Nasal diseases are characterized by sneezing, reverse sneezing, nasal discharge, and by signs of upper airway obstruction. Acute cases are often related to infectious disease or foreign body inhalation and can be relatively straight forward to manage, however chronic syndromes are often time and labor intensive as well as expensive for owners. Knowledge of the differential diagnoses and how physical examination features help rank these differentials is essential in determining when to utilize empiric therapy and when to obtain advanced diagnostics.
