Abstract

Simple Summary People living with metastatic cancer often seek complementary therapies to manage difficult symptoms and improve their overall well-being alongside standard treatments. This study explored how patients view and experience integrative naturopathic oncology care. Interviews revealed that patients find this care highly acceptable, valuing the emotional support, personalized guidance, and sense of control it provides during their cancer journey. However, individuals faced notable obstacles, including high out-of-pocket costs and difficulty coordinating care between disconnected healthcare providers. These findings highlight the need for healthcare systems to build stronger communication bridges between conventional cancer teams and naturopathic providers while addressing financial barriers. Ultimately, this research can inform future policies and clinical models to create more supportive, accessible, and coordinated care for people navigating advanced cancer.
