Abstract

Digital transformation has expanded the market reach and operational flexibility of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), yet digital adoption does not automatically produce sustainable business outcomes. This study aims to synthesize recent evidence on how digital capabilities, green entrepreneurial orientation, and green innovation interact in strengthening MSME sustainability. An integrative literature review was conducted on 27 peer-reviewed studies published during 2021–2025 and selected through relevance screening of recent literature on digital transformation, green entrepreneurship, green innovation, and sustainable SME performance. The studies were coded by research focus, method, geography, mechanism, and performance outcome. The synthesis shows that digital capability functions primarily as an enabling resource, while green entrepreneurial orientation provides strategic direction and green innovation converts digital resources into economic, environmental, and social value. The relationship is strengthened by digital leadership, stakeholder pressure, government support, access to finance, and organizational readiness, but can weaken when digital investment exceeds absorptive and managerial capacity. The study proposes an integrated digital-green entrepreneurship framework and recommends that MSME digitalization programs shift from technology adoption targets toward capability building, green innovation projects, and measurable triple-bottom-line outcomes.
