Grænsen mellem grammatik og rene interaktionsfænomener i en samtalegrammatik

Abstract

The article reviews the boundary between grammar and what the instructions of the grammar network call “pure interaction phenom-ena” (Støtteforeningen for Grammatiknetværket 2023). My point of departure is an attempt to build a comprehensive grammar of Danish talk-in-interaction (Steensig m.fl. 2023, DanTIN 2025, Steensig m.fl. 2025a). This grammar uses recordings of naturally occurring conversations in Danish as the basis for the grammatical descriptions. I argue that it is necessary to include topics in this grammar, which are often understood as “pure interaction phenomena”, such as prosody, embodied actions, turn construction and sequential context. This is done by reviewing and discussing two grammatical phenomena: embodied syntactic complements and the syntax between sentences.
