Electric energy storage device on a shunting diesel locomotive

Abstract

This article discusses the application of electric energy storage devices in the power systems of shunting diesel locomotives. The proposed circuit solutions allow for reducing the diesel fuel consumption of the locomotive and increasing the power and torque on the shaft of the locomotive's traction engine.
