Schools’ Information and Communication Technology Management and Performance
Abstract
This study determined the effectiveness of schools' ICT management as a basis for sustainable educational technology integration in Pangantucan South District, SY 2023-2024. It used the researcher-made survey questionnaire. The respondents were the teachers in Pangantucan South District, SY 2023-2024. The data were analyzed using frequency count, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Pearson r Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The following findings were revealed in this study: The majority of respondents fell within the age brackets of 21 to 30 years, female, and TI. Respondents reported owning gadgets like TVs, laptops/PCs, and Internet devices and connectivity. There was a very high level of effectiveness in schools' ICT management regarding assessment and Evaluation, curriculum integration, digital resources, ICT infrastructure, ICT policy and governance, infrastructure maintenance and support, professional Development, and student access and equity. The majority of the teachers' ICT performance was Very Satisfactory. There was no significant relationship between the level of effectiveness of schools' ICT management and teachers’ ICT performance as perceived by the school heads. The following recommendations were offered: Teachers are advised to modify their teaching approaches to include technology and digital tools. School administrators may continue to provide priority and allocate resources to manage information and communication technology (ICT) properly. Teachers are advised to uphold and enhance their ICT proficiency. Teachers may prioritize improving their individual ICT abilities and performance, regardless of the perceived success of the school's ICT management. By proactively taking personal initiative for Professional Development, actively investigating novel teaching practices, and consistently remaining updated with technology developments, instructors will be empowered to integrate ICT in their classrooms efficiently.
