TL;DR

It is proposed that MoBV15 constitutes a novel species within the genus Scleroulivirus of the family Botourmiaviridae, thereby expanding the known diversity of fungal-associated Botourmiaviridae and inducing hypovirulence in the rice blast fungus host.

Complete genome sequence of a novel alternavirus infecting Fusarium falciforme

The complete genome sequence of a novel alternavirus, tentatively named Fusarium falciforme alternavirus 1 (FfAV1)”, isolated from Fusarium falciforme is presented and it is proposed that FfAV1, along with the two closely related unassigned alternaviruses, represents a new species within the genus Alternavirus.

Botrytis cinerea CCg11 is infected with several putative mycoviruses and exhibits a severe hypovirulence phenotype.

An association between the presence or loss of specific dsRNA elements and the hypovirulent phenotype of B. cinerea CCg11 is supported, but because the viral elements were not molecularly characterized, their identity, novelty, and individual contribution to the observed phenotypes remain to be determined.
