Abstract
Open-world geo-localization requires models to reason over ambiguous visual cues through multi-step reasoning and external knowledge grounding. While recent large vision-language models exhibit strong multimodal reasoning capabilities, existing approaches still suffer from perceptual hallucination and context drift due to the lack of explicit evidence-grounded verification. In this work, we reformulate geo-localization as a human-like perceive-then-verify reasoning problem and propose GeoPAVE (Geo-localization Perception-and-Verification-Engine), a bi-level agentic framework that contains perception-based hypothesis generation via single-pass rollouts and verification-based evidence grounding for decision actions: support, refute, and refine. To support rigorous evaluation, we further introduce PAVED, a novel dataset derived from real-world user check-in data, equipped with comprehensive reasoning trajectories featuring multi-hop queries, multi-round tool invocations, and structured perception-verification traces. The dataset and code are available at https://github.com/Arandinglv/GeoPAVE.
Geo-VLA is proposed, a plug-and-play framework that enhances VLA models by learning geometry-aware visual representations and introduces Geo-QA, a geometry-focused question-answering dataset that injects road geometry into vision-language representations through contrastive learning and instruction tuning.

Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) gives vision--language driving systems access to external safety knowledge, yet a retrieved risk rule may be relevant without applying to the current scene. A vision--language model (VLM) receiving such knowledge must ground objects, bind entities across time, and verify relations b...

3D grounding aims to localize target entities in complex scenes from natural language and plays a fundamental role in embodied perception and spatial reasoning. However, existing approaches mostly rely on feature similarity or direct matching, making it difficult to connect natural-language intent with the implicit sem...

This work proposes a lightweight viewpoint-aware self-correction strategy with low token overhead that serves as an inductive signal, sensitizing the model to frame-of-reference changes and guiding a corresponding shift in its reasoning trajectory.

Reasoning over language instructions in embodied tasks such as robotics often requires understanding spatial relations from a speaker's situated perspective. Humans infer such perspectives from shared environmental knowledge, activity context, and commonsense. Recent vision-language models (VLMs) appear capable of spat...

This work presents an instruction-grounded semantic enhancement module that injects object-level semantics and relative spatial cues into the current observation state, and develops a relevance-aware dynamic temporal aggregation strategy that reweights the full history buffer while converting a few high-relevance frame...
Machine-learning networks can learn without detailed instructions from a designer. Those that do may offer insight into how the brain reorganizes itself during learning.
