Structural Classification of Phraseological Expressions in the Azerbaijani and Polish Languages

Abstract

The article presents the structural classification, usage, and functional roles of phraseological expressions in the Azerbaijani and Polish languages. It emphasizes that these materials constitute valuable lexicographic data in terms of innovation. Due to the differences in linguistic structure, form, content, and grammatical rules, the comparative analysis of these two languages is shown as an initial attempt. The provision of equivalents of the relevant phraseological expressions – based on Azerbaijani examples, alongside their Polish correspondences – is noteworthy both from a theoretical perspective and in terms of translation practice. Thus, the study serves as an interesting source in linguistics.
