Evaluation of the rmpA Gene as a Virulence Factor Regulating Biofilm Formation in Klebsiella pneumoniae.

It has been demonstrated that Klebsiella pneumonia isolates exhibit a strong biofilm-forming capacity increased the rates of resistance to antibiotics, and the relation with the rmpA gene, a positive association was detected between biofilm formation and rmpA-carrying isolates, although it was strain dependent.

Antibacterial and Antibiofilm Activity of Aspergillus-Derived Gliotoxin Against Streptococcus pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus: Interaction with Conventional Antibiotics

Gliotoxin inhibited planktonic growth and significantly reduced the biomass and viability of biofilms in a concentration-dependent manner, and its combination with conventional antibiotics showed strong synergy, drastically decreasing bacterial survival.

Phage–Antibiotic–Peptide Synergy Overcomes Biofilm-Mediated Multidrug Resistance in Serratia marcescens

It is demonstrated that simultaneous targeting of multiple bacterial pathways can enhance antimicrobial activity against MDR S. marcescens in vitro and support further evaluation of BAP as a potential strategy for biofilm-associated infections.

Comprehensive Genotypic Characterization of Antiseptic Resistance Determinants in Pseudomonas aeruginosa Clinical Isolates

The growing application of biosides post-COVID-19 has heightened concern over the development and spread of antiseptic resistance determinants, especially qac genes in different types of bacteria. This study aimed to evaluate antiseptic resistance determinants in clinical P. aeruginosa isolates and to determi...
