Abstract
Introduction. Digital tools are becoming one of the key drivers of transformation in entrepreneurial activity. Their implementation is associated not only with technological modernisation of companies, but also with changes in business processes, cost structures, the quality of managerial decision-making, and approaches to value creation. Artificial intelligence is of particular importance, as it enables faster data processing, more personalised customer interaction, and greater efficiency in certain operational processes. At the same time, the mere availability of digital solutions does not, in itself, ensure a financial result. Materials and Methods. The study is theoretical and applied in nature and is based on the systematisation of academic literature, comparative analysis, institutional analysis, and logical modelling. The paper examines Russian and international approaches to digital transformation, the use of artificial intelligence in companies, the development of digital assets, data management, and the assessment of organisational conditions for the implementation of digital tools. Results. The study shows that the effectiveness of artificial intelligence implementation depends on data quality, employees’ digital competencies, the maturity of management processes, the resilience of infrastructure, and the company’s ability to align digital projects with financial objectives. The main barriers to the implementation of digital tools are identified as resource constraints, weak integration of IT systems, insufficient knowledge and expertise, information security risks, fragmented implementation, and uncertainty regarding payback. Discussion and Conclusion. Artificial intelligence should be regarded not as an autonomous substitute for managerial thinking, but as a tool that strengthens the analytical function of management. The financial effect of digitalisation is formed through the combination of technologies, data, competencies, processes, and managerial discipline. The practical significance of the study lies in substantiating the need to consider the implementation of digital tools as both a managerial and an investment decision that requires an assessment of risks, costs, and expected economic outcomes.
