Using an analogue of the Mandelstam-Giddings-Wolpert diagrams, we introduce a new canonical representative of the conformal class of a bounded domain of arbitrary connectivity in $\mathbb{C}$ as a flat conical surface with geodesic boundary (a"truncated light-cone diagram", simply LC-diagram in the sequel). The space of diagrams carries natural coordinates. We derive variational formulas for the determinant of the Dirichlet Laplacian on a LC-diagram with respect to these coordinates. Then, passing to the Schottky double of the LC-diagram, making use of the Burghelea-Friedlander-Kappeler formula and the known variational formulas for determinants of Laplacians on the moduli space of holomorphic differentials, we compute the Dirichlet-to-Neumann (DN) conformal invariant $\frac{{\rm det}'\Lambda}{|\Gamma|}$ (here $\Lambda$ is the DN operator on the boundary, $\Gamma$, of a multiply connected domain and $|\Gamma|$ is the length of the boundary). The resulting formula (which uses the periods of the Schottky double of the domain only) provides an elementary counterpart to the formulas of Guillarmou and Guillop\'e who had expressed the DN invariant through the Ruelle and Selberg zeta-functions. Our formula agrees with the recent result of Wentworth on the asymptotics of the DN invariant as all but one boundary components shrink; we have used this result to fix the undetermined constant of integration in our formula. As a corollary, we derive an explicit formula for the determinant of the Dirichlet Laplacian in a multiply connected domain.
We study a logarithmic re-gauging of the visual boundary, arising from the logarithmic metric on the sublinear Morse boundary introduced by Garg-Jana-Qing. For every proper geodesic hyperbolic space $X$, we prove that $d_{\mathrm{log}}(\xi,\eta)\asymp (1+(\xi\mid\eta)_o)^{-\theta}$. As a consequence, under the natural...
We study the extension of the conformal structure of a Riemann surface, obtained as a submanifold of $\mathbf R^n$, across an isolated singular point, under hypotheses that are metric rather than analytic. The main result (1989) is that an isolated singularity is $\textbf{conformally point-like}$ (conformal to a punctu...
We study the conformal parametrisation of smooth star-shaped planar domains and its dependence on perturbations of the boundary. The boundary correspondence of the normalized Riemann map is described by the Theodorsen equation, which we formulate in weighted Wiener algebras. We derive an explicit representation of the...
Adapting a construction of Kurihara in the setting of Drinfeld modular forms, we define Poincar\'e series on the Drinfeld half-plane $\Omega$. These series are built from products of meromorphic $1$-forms that are naturally associated to geodesics on the Bruhat-Tits tree. We establish convergence under a finiteness con...
We continue our study of the conformal loop ensemble (CLE) with parameter $\kappa=4$, the critical threshold at or below which the loops are simple and disjoint, touching neither each other nor the domain boundary. This paper is the second in a series of three establishing that the loops of a CLE$_4$ uniquely determine...

Let $X$ be a compact Riemann surface of genus $g\geq2$, and let $\M$ be the moduli space of rank-two trace-free Higgs bundles with fixed determinant of odd degree. For the normalization of the Hitchin metric used in this paper, we prove that the volume of geodesic ball in the Hitchin moduli space is given by $$ \Vol_{g...
