Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems without in-band pilots suffer from catastrophic Inter-Carrier Interference (ICI) and irreducible error floors when subjected to extreme Carrier Frequency Offset (CFO). While cross-domain waveforms like OTFS address high Doppler spreads, their detection complexity remains prohibitive for real-time edge hardware [4], [5]. In this letter, we propose a novel receiver paradigm termed Spectrum-Aligned Discrete Fourier Transform (SA-DFT). Rather than suppressing ICI with complex equalizers, SA-DFT re-aligns the DFT sampling grid to match the Doppler-shifted subcarrier frequencies, transforming the dominant CFO-induced ICI into a largely common phase rotation that can be blindly corrected. Synergized with Time-Division Duplexing (TDD) Regularized Zero-Forcing (RZF) precoding and a blind power-law estimator, the proposed holistic architecture guarantees reliable demodulation with zero in-band pilot overhead during data transmission. Extensive validations confirm that SA-DFT operates with <inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">$\mathcal {O}(N^{2})$ </tex-math></inline-formula> complexity while delivering a 6.25% effective throughput gain and tolerating initial CFO errors up to <inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">$\Delta \varepsilon =0.14$ </tex-math></inline-formula>. Applied to the Watermark BCH1 dataset, SA-DFT improves EVM from 45.3% down to 9.8% (<inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">$4.6\times $ </tex-math></inline-formula>), demonstrating practical robustness.
Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) is a key waveform for integrated sensing and communication (ISAC). Existing OFDM ambiguity analyses, however, typically assume fully occupied data-only waveforms, whereas practical frames contain direct-current and edge-guard nulls, fixed pilots, and random payload symb...
Fifth-generation (5G) communication systems employ orthogonal demodulation reference signals to eliminate pilot contamination and user interference, resulting in a significant overhead for reserving resource elements in the time-frequency grid. 5G technologies rely on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) a...

Orthogonal delay-Doppler (DD) division multiplexing (ODDM) has been recently proposed as a promising candidate for communication in high-mobility scenarios. This work investigates the application of Tomlinson-Harashima precoding (THP) in ODDM systems to simplify equalization. To align the transceiver architecture with...

The orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing multiple frequency-shift keying with sweep-spread carrier (OFDM-MFSK-S2C) suffers from inter-carrier interference (ICI), which is often misaligned with the orthogonal subcarrier grid (i.e., the nominal grid). To address this issue, a refined-grid intra-carrier interference...

This paper proposes a novel transceiver structure built on a newly designed waveform in this work, termed Orthogonal Filtered Delay-Doppler Multiplexing (OF2DM), targeting the challenges of next-generation wireless systems. Unlike existing modulation schemes, OF2DM ensures real-domain orthogonality in the time-frequenc...

Analog radio-over-free-space optical (RoFSO) fronthaul can transport radio waveforms over rapidly deployable optical beams, but atmospheric fading, receiver noise, orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) peaks, analog bandwidth, and channel-state uncertainty degrade modulation quality. This paper develops a 1...
