This thesis evaluates how Velvet’s performance, scalability and usability compare to the industry state of the art by porting three benchmarks to Velvet and shows that Velvet is competitive with Rayon on all three workloads.
A benchmarking study of Python-Rust interoperability reveals that the Rust enhanced versions systematically execute faster than pure Pythoncode- up to three times faster in some cases.

Exo-GPU, an imperative, low-level language that creates minimal abstraction over CUDA, is proposed, to treat parallelism and synchronization as mere annotations on sequential code rather than as fundamental control flow primitives, enabling verification that these constructs do not alter the program semantics.

Parallel performance depends not only on programming language and runtime design, but also on how the dominant execution bottleneck changes as parallelism increases. We present a controlled cross-language study of Rust, Julia, Haskell, and Python using Merge Sort, Closest Pair of Points, and Numerical Sum in a multicor...

This paper presents a zero-overhead, multi-vendor GPU compilation framework built natively into the Rust compiler (rustc) and LLVM backends, and leverages Rust's rich type system, ownership system, and strict aliasing guarantees to efficiently manage and optimize data transfers through LLVM's Offload infrastructure.

eBPF allows user-defined programs to safely extend Linux kernel functionality at runtime, but its final machine code comes from a compilation pipeline that differs from native targets, and how efficient that pipeline is has no clear reference point. Our work constructs one: using the standard LLVM x86 backend as an app...

(English) High-performance computing (HPC) platforms are evolving towards increasingly complex architectures: many-core CPUs with multi-level NUMA hierarchies, heterogeneity with multiple classes of accelerators and higher-capacity interconnects. The increasing complexity and variety of resources in these machines make...
