Interactions of LINE-1 ORF1p with proteins and chromatin suggest a role in neuronal physiology
ORF1p, a LINE-1-encoded protein, regulates chromatin accessibility, neuron-specific gene expression, and neurite morphology in post-mitotic neurons, revealing a physiological role for this retrotransposon protein in the brain.
