Molecular basis for protection and cross-protection by human antibodies targeting the parainfluenza virus hemagglutinin-neuraminidase protein

Two human monoclonal antibodies, 5217-2 and 5217-9, are identified and characterized, which bind recombinant PIV3 HN protein, bind PIV3-infected cells, and are neutralizing in vitro and demonstrate new protective mAbs for both PIV3 and PIV1.

Molecular basis for protection and cross-protection by human antibodies targeting the parainfluenza virus hemagglutinin-neuraminidase protein

Two human monoclonal antibodies are identified that neutralize PIV3 and mapped the specific regions of the viral hemagglutinin-neuraminidase (HN) protein they recognize and demonstrate protective activity of these antibodies in animal models against PIV3 and PIV1 infection.
