TL;DR

Two human monoclonal antibodies, 5217-2 and 5217-9, are identified and characterized, which bind recombinant PIV3 HN protein, bind PIV3-infected cells, and are neutralizing in vitro and demonstrate new protective mAbs for both PIV3 and PIV1.

Distinct mechanisms of neutralization by antibodies targeting a conserved pneumovirus F epitope

Pneumoviruses cause seasonal outbreaks leading to hospitalizations of vulnerable populations such as infants and the elderly. Cross-neutralizing antibodies targeting viral fusion have been isolated from infected individuals, but their elicitation and mechanisms of action remain understudied. Here, we describe two vacci...

Pan-neutralization of parainfluenza viruses by a hemagglutinin-neuraminidase antibody

Human parainfluenza viruses (HPIVs) can cause severe respiratory illnesses, such as croup, bronchiolitis, and pneumonia, particularly in children, the elderly and immunocompromised individuals. No vaccines or specific therapeutics are available for use in humans. Here, we report the discovery of a human monoclonal anti...

Identification of a novel conserved B-cell epitope in the glycoprotein of rabies virus

This study identifies a novel, highly conserved with conservative substitutions linear B-cell epitope on the RABV glycoprotein, providing a precise molecular target for the rational design of next-generation epitope-based vaccines and specific diagnostic tools.

Broadly reactive antibodies against influenza B virus hemagglutinin neutralize and protect through distinct structural mechanisms

ABSTRACT Influenza B viruses contribute substantially to seasonal disease burden; however, the structural basis by which antibodies recognize the major glycoprotein hemagglutinin (HA) and mediate antiviral activity remains incompletely defined. Influenza B virus used to circulate as two antigenically distinct lineages,...

A bispecific antibody targeting conserved hemagglutinin epitopes confers broad protection against H7 avian influenza and accelerates viral clearance via localized respiratory delivery

ABSTRACT The continuous antigenic drift of zoonotic H7 avian influenza viruses remains a significant global public health threat. While monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) targeting the hemagglutinin (HA) head offer potent neutralization, their efficacy is often undermined by rapid viral escape. In this study, we systematical...
