Abstract
The transition from traditional power grids to smart grids signifies a significant change in energy management, distribution, and consumption. A smart grid modernizes the electricity delivery system by monitoring, protecting, and automatically optimizing the operation of its interconnected components. It is often viewed as a solution to global warming, offering great potential for cleaner and more efficient power, improved air quality, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions. The smart grid enhances the 20th-century electrical grid by incorporating two-way communication and intelligent devices. This enables bidirectional flow of electricity and information, potentially improving the delivery network. This paper discusses the key applications of smart grid technology.
The article examines the Smart Grid as a cyber-physical power system in which digital communication channels, intelligent measuring devices, and control algorithms ensure continuous coordination of electricity generation, transmission, distribution, and consumption. The aim of the work is to systematize the conceptual...
