Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of serbaneka media in supporting the implementation of character education at primary school, or P5 character, since this nature has barriers. This research, which is grounded in multimedia learning theory and character education, intends to explore the effects of various media formats on cognitive engagement and the development of students’ character. This study used a convergent parallel mixedmethods design with 30 students and six teachers from six public elementary schools. Quantitative data were collected by way of a validated and reliable questionnaire evaluating enjoyment, creativity, academic perception, and character behavior learning; whereas qualitative knowledge was obtained through participatory observations, semistructured interviews, and document analysis. These results show that the use of serbaneka media motivates students to learn (80%), facilitates creativity (75%), and develops informed behaviors based on character education, with an average student’s behavior such as: same responsibility (85.5%), collaborative ability, discipline, honesty, and fair (79%). The audiovisual material, such as videos or animations, where interactive applications are used, and infographics result as pedagogical tools that allow fragmentation to achieve understanding of concepts and internalization of values through project workshops. In addition, teacher collaboration and supportive infrastructure were seen as favorable enablers, whilst gaps in digital competence and resources remained serious barriers.
