Abstract

In the face of a new social landscape immersed in technological innovations, the educational sector is undergoing transformations through the integration of contemporary educational trends. This article, based on a literature review, analyzes not only how these trends contribute to the teaching-learning process, but also their impact on the role played by the teacher, who now assumes the position of mediator of knowledge. Furthermore, it presents the main trends and their particularities, highlighting active methodologies, the inclusion of technological tools in school planning, and blended learning, which stands out for offering both in-person and online classes, demanding commitment and autonomy from the student in the learning process. This work also evaluates the challenges in this transition process, which requires teachers to be trained to deal with current trends, and to develop strategies to motivate and raise students' awareness of the conscious use of these educational innovations in order to promote a comprehensive student education, preparing them to face the challenges of the current century.
