Digital Economy and Work Transformation
Abstract
The global information technology services industry is estimated to be worth about 1.6-1.9 trillion US dollars and is based on a simple commercial principal clients pay for the time that people work. The rule has been broken by artificial intelligence. The time-consuming relationship between work and value in business has been broken as software agents now accomplish what used to take hours of human work in minutes. This article explores the subsequent paradigm change from time and materials to outcome based pricing, where providers are remunerated based on tangible outcomes, like closed cases, transactions, or confirmed cost savings. Based on industry reports, analyst research, financial disclosures, and journalistic reports from 2025 to 2026, the article addresses how the change came about, how outcome contracts are designed and evaluated, and where the profits are now. It also evaluates the impacts for the workers, the national economies reliant on services exports, corporate purchasers, and the public. The evidence suggests that there is a real, albeit uneven, move towards outcome pricing in July 2026, one large multinational provider said around 80 percent of new contracts in its finance and human resources services business are outcome priced, and independent analysts estimate that less than one in five buyers today use outcome pricing, overall. The lack of congruence between rhetoric and practice is a key open question for research and policy, the article says.
GAOKAO-Bench is introduced, an intuitive benchmark that employs questions from the Chinese GAOKAO examination as test samples, including both subjective and objective questions that contribute a robust evaluation benchmark for future large language models and offers valuable insights into the advantages and limitations...

This work investigates the possibilities of using LLMs in a resume screening setting via a document retrieval framework that simulates job candidate selection and finds that the MTEs are biased, significantly favoring White-associated names in 85% of cases and female-associated names in only 11.1% of cases.
This paper presents a comprehensive overview of the Ultralytics YOLO family, emphasizing architectural evolution, benchmarking, deployment, and emerging directions from YOLOv5 through YOLO27, and examines detection, segmentation, depth, classification, pose, oriented detection, tracking, export, quantization, and deplo...
This work revisits schema linking when using the latest generation of large language models (LLMs) and finds empirically that newer models are adept at utilizing relevant schema elements during generation even in the presence of large numbers of irrelevant ones.

A novel threat is unveiled in which attackers steer the RAG system's response by injecting malicious passages into its knowledge base, enabling the attacker to steer the response without altering the user input or modifying the RAG weights.

Empirically, PRISM reduces the end-to-end time for data selection and model tuning to just 30% of conventional pipelines, and achieves this efficiency while simultaneously enhancing performance, surpassing models fine-tuned on the full dataset across eight multimodal and three language understanding benchmarks.
