TL;DR
Emerging evidence for non-cell-autonomous propagation of ferroptotic cell death is discussed and the mechanisms that underlie its restriction in tissues are highlighted, as well as ferroptosis surveillance beyond the cellular level.
Findings indicate MCU-mediated acetyl-CoA metabolism as a critical anti-ferroptosis mechanism, which can be investigated as a potential therapeutic candidate for tumor treatment.

A target-cell-oriented pharmacological map that integrates their autophagic targets, ferroptotic effects, disease contexts and relevant target-cell populations is constructed, thereby providing a rationale for developing ADF-based therapeutic strategies with defined indications, measurable pharmacodynamic biomarkers an...

Ferroptosis has attracted significant attention for its potential to treat drug resistant tumors, along with its role in neurodegeneration and ischemia. Several ferroptosis targets were identified in the past decade, yet it is also highly affected by cellular metabolism and epithelial or mesenchymal phenotypes which li...
