Abstract
This research introduced the effectiveness and importance of digital tools on English language learning and the challenges experienced in their implementation. The research problem centred on understanding the impact of digital tools on English language learning outcomes and pinpointing obstacles to successful integration. However, it was crucial to assess their efficacy and identify barriers. The results positively impacted English language learning, with increased motivation and engagement reporting. Participants showed improved proficiency and communication skills. Challenges included technical issues, digital literacy gaps, and distractions, underscoring the need for adequate teacher training and support. The findings positively impacted language learning, as evidenced by heightened motivation and engagement among participants. Noticeable improvements were observed in proficiency and communication skills. Technical glitches, disparities in digital literacy, and distractions were identified, emphasizing the necessity for comprehensive teacher training and support. Recommendations include continuous research and student-friendly English language learning applications. Promoting digital literacy among educators and learners is essential in maximizing the benefits of emerging technologies. Addressing these challenges and leveraging digital tools would better prepare language educators for a multilingual and interconnected world.

The English teachers espoused the use of technologically driven English-language instructional materials to address the academic demands of 21st-century learners. Studies found that the inevitable emergence of technological advancements has a significant impact on the use of English language instructional materials. This paper aims to explore the challenges encountered and interventions pursued by English language teachers in integrating technology into their instructional materials, highlighting the urgency of addressing the factors that affect the effective use of technology in English instruction. The study employed a qualitative research method, specifically the phenomenological approach using thematic analysis, to gather essential data through interviews with 16 informants. The challenges faced include insufficient instructional resources, the unavailability or instability of internet connections, unfamiliarity with online platforms, learners' lack of motivation, the suitability of materials to students' needs, overloading of online resources, time constraints, and inadequate financial support. Amidst the challenges besetting them, the English teachers sought interventions. It is concluded that there are challenges in employing technology in English teaching, necessitating urgent action. Thus, school administrators in Cebu are recommended to seriously address the debilitating and recurring challenges affecting English instruction, aligning with SDG 1 and SDG 4.

This study aims to investigate teachers' perceptions of the use of digital media and audiovisual resources in online English language teaching. Given the rapid advancement of digital technologies and their increasing presence in contemporary educational settings, the study seeks to examine the benefits and challenges associated with integrating these tools into the teaching and learning process. The research adopted a qualitative approach, supported by a literature review and data collected through a questionnaire administered to English language teachers working in the Amazon region, particularly in rural and inland areas characterized by unique geographical conditions and significant connectivity challenges. The findings revealed that participants frequently incorporate videos, podcasts, educational applications, social media, and digital platforms into their teaching practices. Teachers identified the development of language skills, increased student interaction and engagement, greater learning flexibility, and access to authentic language materials as the primary benefits of using these digital resources. However, they also highlighted challenges related to internet connectivity, technological infrastructure, and the need for continuous teacher training to ensure the effective integration of digital technologies into educational practices. The study concludes that digital media and audiovisual resources are perceived as valuable tools for online English language teaching, fostering more dynamic and interactive learning environments. Nevertheless, overcoming existing infrastructural limitations remains essential to maximizing their educational potential.

This study examines the extent to which Arabic language teachers employ digital learning tools and proposes an explanatory model of their effects on language skills development and students’ quality of life. An explanatory approach was adopted, and data were collected through a questionnaire administered to a sample of 266 Arabic language teachers. Overall, the use of digital learning tools was high across all dimensions. Lesson preparation recorded the highest level, followed by quality of life, lesson implementation, and lesson evaluation. The results indicate that digital learning tools have a positive effect on both language skills development and quality of life. Among the examined dimensions, lesson implementation showed the strongest effect, whereas lesson preparation did not yield a statistically significant effect. Language skills also showed a direct positive effect on quality of life. In addition, the findings indicate an indirect effect of digital learning tools on quality of life through language skills, supporting the mediating role of language skills in explaining the relationships among the study variables.

Speaking is one of the most challenging language skills for English as a foreign language (EFL) learners to master, while advances in digital technology have created new opportunities to address this challenge. This study aimed to identify the types of digital technologies used in English speaking instruction, analyze their effectiveness, and describe the challenges associated with their implementation. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method following the PRISMA 2020 protocol. Searches were conducted in the Google Scholar and ERIC databases, covering articles published between 2021 and 2026. Ten articles were selected for analysis using content analysis. The findings showed that the digital technologies applied were categorized into five groups: mobile-assisted language learning, short-video social media platforms, synchronous computer-mediated communication, artificial intelligence (AI), and immersive technologies. Among the ten reviewed articles, seven reported positive effects on speaking fluency, vocabulary use, self-confidence, and motivation; however, improvements in pronunciation and speaking anxiety were not consistently observed. The main challenges identified included technical issues, the need for user training, limited personalization of technological feedback, and students’ preference for direct interaction. These findings indicate that technology selection should be aligned with specific learning objectives while maintaining the essential role of human interaction in language learning.
