The proposed framework contributes a unified blockchain and cryptographic architecture for secure, decentralized and tamper-proof IP protection, employing novel cryptographic algorithms and decentralized storage mechanisms to secure and verify image patents.
Abstract
Intellectual Property (IP) protection has become increasingly important in the digital era due to the rapid growth of online patent sharing, decentralized communication and digital asset distribution. However, the existing IP protection systems often suffer from limitations such as centralized control, weak cryptographic security, scalability issues, unauthorized duplication and vulnerability to tampering attacks in distributed environments. Considering these limitations, the present study provides a secure framework for IP protection using a blockchain-based IP protection system, employing novel cryptographic algorithms and decentralized storage mechanisms to secure and verify image patents. The proposed framework utilizes the USPTO PTGRDT patent dataset containing Extensible Markup Language (XML) patent documents. Initially, the patent images are extracted, resized, denoised, normalized and converted into standardized formats for secure processing. The SHA (Secure Hash Algorithm)-3 hashing is applied to generate cryptographic fingerprints while AES-256-GCM (Advanced Encryption Standard-256-Galois/Counter Mode) and RSA (Rivest-Shamir-Adleman)-2048 are utilized for secure image encryption and key management. The encrypted patent assets are stored in InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) and their corresponding metadata and hash values are anchored on the Hyperledger Fabric blockchain to ensure immutable ownership records. Furthermore, the Adaptive Cryptographic Consensus (ACC) and smart contract mechanisms are integrated to support dynamic security, patent registration, licensing, verification and replay-attack prevention. The experimental evaluation demonstrates reliable encryption security, decentralized storage integrity, tamper resistance, secure patent verification and efficient blockchain transaction management. The proposed framework contributes a unified blockchain and cryptographic architecture for secure, decentralized and tamper-proof IP protection.
Rapid expansion of the fashion technology industry has given rise to patent infringements, counterfeit products, and unauthorized ownership manipulation. The existing IP protection mechanisms have drawbacks of transparency, central control, delayed verification, and lack of traceability. To overcome these problems, a b...
