Abstract
Character education is a crucial aspect of personality development for elementary school students. However, its implementation in schools faces various challenges, particularly a lack of engaging, interactive learning media capable of integrating local cultural values. Conversely, the advancement of digital technology offers opportunities to develop learning media tailored to students' characteristics. This study aims to develop an interactive digital comic based on the local wisdom of South Kalimantan to strengthen character education for fifth-grade elementary school students. The study employs the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, comprising the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research was conducted at SD Islam Ma’rifah Ashfia Banjarbaru, involving two subject matter experts, two media experts, one fifth-grade teacher, and twenty fifth-grade students as research subjects. Data collection techniques included observation, questionnaires, tests, and documentation. The results indicate that the developed media achieved a validity rating of 93.75% from subject matter experts and 91.67% from media experts, placing it in the "highly valid" category. Regarding practicality, the media scored 96.00% based on teacher responses and 92.40% based on student responses, falling into the "highly practical" category. Effectiveness test results showed an N-Gain score of 0.73, which falls into the high category. Thus, the interactive digital comic based on South Kalimantan's local wisdom is deemed valid, practical, and effective for strengthening character education among fifth-grade elementary school students.
