Abstract
This study investigates the adoption and utilisation of AI Builder in the Microsoft Power Platform; the focus will be on the socio-technical barriers affecting the successful uptake within organisations. A qualitative approach utilizing a single-case study of documented AI Builder implementation at the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) is used along with existing literature. A thematic analysis was performed to analyse the implementation process and the critical organizational and technical aspects of AI Builder adoption. As shown, governance, citizen development, and organizational preparedness were found to be major themes for effective implementation, and good data governance, collaborative efforts across teams, change management, and user trust are enablers for successful, sustained adoption. The AHDB case shows how AI Builder, when used with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Dataverse, can lead to better coordinated workflows, single data points and a more efficient organisation. The study demonstrates that the successful deployment of AI Builder is contingent more on organizational readiness and accountability than technological maturity. These findings offer an informed blueprint to organizations adopting low-code AI platforms and contribute to the ongoing body of literature in AI democratization and socio-technical implementations.

Technology adoption plays a central role in the success of organisations, where organisational maturity can only be achieved based on learning organisation principles and agile teams for cross-functional collaboration. These constructs are seldom examined in tandem, and are more often approached as separate aspects in the complex adaptive systems in today’s organisations. Recent AI developments necessitate a re-evaluation of how learning organisations are optimised in digitally transformed environments. Knowledge management (KM) has evolved into a strategic enabler of organisational learning and adaptive capacity. This paper reports on findings of a scoping review that explored trends in organisational maturity, conceptualised as the extent to which organisations institutionalise continuous learning, reflective practice, and knowledge integration across systems, culture, and leadership. Databases Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science and ProQuest Central were searched and sources published from 2009 to 2025 were selected for thematic analysis. Using the PRISMA-ScR reporting guidelines and Covidence for data extraction, 37 articles were selected and analysed to identify trends and gaps in research. Findings indicate that sustainable competitive advantage emerges when organisational maturity, AI integration, and continuous learning are aligned to support anticipatory, evidence-based decision-making in complex environments.

This study explores how the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems influences Environment, Society, and Governance (ESG) development within a regional organization in Ubon Ratchathani Province, Thailand. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis, and analyzed using thematic and matrix coding in NVivo. The results revealed that AI and ERP systems enhanced operational transparency, accountability, and efficiency through data centralization and process automation. Notably, digital adoption improved environmental monitoring, employee collaboration, and governance compliance, aligning technological transformation with sustainability outcomes. Leadership commitment and employee empowerment were identified as key mediators driving positive organizational culture and acceptance of digital systems. This study contributes to the theoretical understanding of digital transformation by demonstrating how AI and ERP systems can advance ESG principles in regional enterprises. The findings offer practical implications for policymakers and managers seeking to promote sustainable digital transformation in developing economies.
