Abstract

Precise control over complex dynamics remains challenging for modern video generative models, as text prompts alone often cannot specify physically plausible, fine-grained motion and interactions. We introduce $\textit{proxy-conditioned video generation}$, where a coarse proxy video from physics-based simulation or real-world recording serves as a dynamics carrier to control foreground object motion. Given a proxy video and a text prompt, the goal is to synthesize a new video that preserves the proxy dynamics while generating novel content and plausible interactions aligned with the prompt. Since paired proxy-target videos are difficult to obtain, we propose $\textbf{ProxyUp}$, a training-free framework built on pretrained video generative models. ProxyUp first inverts the proxy video into an intermediate latent representation and applies $\textbf{region-wise latent noising}$, preserving motion-critical proxy latents while injecting noise into regions intended for text-driven regeneration. To mitigate the distribution mismatch and weak foreground-background coupling introduced by this heuristic latent composition, we further propose $\textbf{Stochastic Flow Relaxation (SFR)}$, which progressively relaxes the composed latent toward the model's learned distribution before ODE sampling. Experiments on both simulation and real-world proxies show that ProxyUp outperforms strong video editing and motion transfer baselines in dynamic fidelity and text alignment.

MiniWorld: Democratizing the Training of Video World Models from Scratch

Video world models predict future observations conditioned on historical observations and control signals, enabling long-horizon generation through autoregressive state transitions. Unlike conventional video generation models that primarily capture visual appearance and motion, video world models learn the underlying dynamics governing environment evolution under agent actions, providing a foundation for embodied AI and interactive simulation. Recent progress has largely relied on adapting pretrained video generation models through post-training or distillation. Although effective, these approaches often require complex training pipelines, substantial computational resources, and suffer from the mismatch between bidirectional pretraining and causal streaming inference. Recent studies have shown that training autoregressive video world models from scratch is feasible and scalable. However, the community still lacks a lightweight, transparent, and fully reproducible baseline trainable end-to-end with modest computational resources. We present MiniWorld, a reproducible framework for training streaming video world models from scratch. MiniWorld employs a block-causal Video Diffusion Transformer trained with Flow Matching in the latent space of a pretrained Video VAE. Building on Diffusion Forcing, it adopts a chunk-wise non-decreasing noise schedule and two-stage continued training to improve temporal modeling and stability. During inference, MiniWorld combines a rolling KV cache with pipelined asynchronous denoising for efficient streaming generation under bounded computation. The entire model can be trained within several days on a single 8-GPU server. By releasing the training and inference codebase and pretrained checkpoints, we hope MiniWorld will facilitate future research on video world modeling.

ForgeWM: Progressive Causal Training for Few-Step Action-Conditioned Video World Models

Action-conditioned video world models require low-latency causal generation and reliable responses to game-native controls. Although causal distillation enables one- or few-step video synthesis, extending it to interactive world models remains challenging, as discrete keyboard states and continuous mouse motion must remain aligned with temporally compressed latent chunks during causal training and autoregressive rollout. We introduce ForgeWM, a progressive framework that transforms a bidirectional action-conditioned video generator into efficient few-step world models through domain adaptation, teacher-forced causal training, causal consistency distillation, and on-policy distribution matching with a bidirectional teacher. The resulting budget-specialized students operate at steady-state denoising budgets of 1, 2, and 4 steps. ForgeWM further supports a dual-path deployment protocol combining latency-critical interaction with optional replay-time refinement, where the one-step student re-noises and refines its saved draft. On paired Minecraft trajectories, ForgeWM leads the evaluated systems in Imaging Quality, reference-aligned motion-profile agreement, action-sign accuracy, and mouse-control accuracy, while achieving the lowest reference LPIPS; the same four-stage recipe transfers to gamepad-controlled FPS gameplay. Replay-time refinement matches four-step reference quality while remaining roughly three times closer to the experienced trajectory than regeneration from noise. These results demonstrate ForgeWM's effectiveness for controllable few-step video generation.
