Abstract

This study aimed to develop, validate, and evaluate the pedagogical alignment and user acceptability of a mobile digital learning tool incorporating Vedic Mathematics principles for 2-digit multiplication. It was conducted to the Grade 8 learners in a public high school in northern Negros Occidental during the School Year 2026–2027. Utilizing a design and development research design structured around the ADDIE framework, the project digitized four core Vedic Sutras: Urdhva-Tiryagbhyam, Ekadhikena Purvena, Antyayordasake'pi, and Nikhilam. The evaluation process involved three participant groups: ten (10) expert validators, five (5) Grade 8 Mathematics teachers, and forty (40) Grade 8 student-users. Data collection instruments included the Department of Education (DepEd) Learning Resource Management and Development System (LRMDS) evaluation framework, the standardized Computer System Usability Questionnaire (CSUQ), and computational speed and accuracy assessments. Pre-assessment result of moderate to proficient level of computational accuracy, coupled with moderate operational speed, these findings highlighted a clear need for targeted instructional intervention to bridge procedural accuracy and execution gaps. Quantitative evaluation demonstrated that the developed digital tool attained high content validity and technical compliance, achieving an overall rating of Very Satisfactory on the DepEd LRMDS validation scale based on Content Quality, Instructional Quality, Technical Quality, and Technical Errors. CSUQ evaluations from teachers and learners confirmed high usability across System Usefulness, Information Quality, and Interface Quality, demonstrating the application's pedagogical soundness and technical reliability. The study recommends incorporating the software into mathematics enrichment programs to support foundational mental arithmetic skills and computational fluency.
