TL;DR

The results demonstrated that GA and HST synergistically inhibited nitric oxide production at a 1:1 concentration ratio in vitro and significantly reduced the PASI scores, spleen index, Baker's histology score, and pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-1β, IL-6, IL-17, IL-22, IL-23, and TNF-α in the IMQ-induced psoriasis mouse model.

Topical Neoagarohexaose from Red Algae Alleviates Acute MSU-Induced Paw Inflammation Accompanied by Reduced Ccl2-Associated Macrophage Chemotaxis

Red algae-derived bioactive oligosaccharides have drawn increasing attention in drug discovery, yet their therapeutic potential in crystal-induced inflammation remains underexplored. Here, we investigated the anti-inflammatory effects and underlying mechanisms of neoagarohexaose (NA6), a well-defined agarose-derived ol...

Interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and Interleukin 10 (IL-10) Regulation Reduces Epithelial Inflammation in Mice Using a Topical Cream with Ficus minahassae

Inflammation is an immune response contributing substantially to morbidity and mortality. However, anti-inflammatory treatments present limitations including availability of resources, high costs, and adverse reactions. Here, we investigated the anti-inflammatory properties of a traditionally used medicinal indigenous...

Celecoxib or diallyl trisulfide topical emulgels, alone or in combination, reduce pruritus and inflammatory cascades in a BALB/c mouse model of imiquimod-induced psoriasis

Psoriasis is a chronic, immune-mediated inflammatory skin disease for which no curative treatment currently exists, posing a significant challenge because of its deleterious effects on patients’ quality of life and its substantial economic burden on healthcare systems. Current first-line therapies, including corticoste...

Pharmacological evaluation of vitexin, quercitrin, and isoquercitrin on TNF-α-stimulated human macrophages and their implication for chronic inflammatory condition

Chronic inflammation, a key factor in the pathogenesis of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), is characterized by excessive production of pro-inflammatory mediators, including nitric oxide (NO), IL-1ß, and IL-6, as well as intestinal mucosal damage. Vitexin, quercitrin, and isoquercitrin are flavonoid glycosides commonly...

Hydrogen-Rich Water Enhances Ibuprofen-Induced Antinociception and Modulates NOX Signaling and the NLRP3 Inflammasome in Chronic Inflammatory Pain

HRW is supported as a promising adjuvant strategy for improving NSAID-mediated analgesia and a strong preclinical rationale for further mechanistic and translational investigation of this combination as a multimodal therapeutic approach for chronic inflammatory pain is provided.
